The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved an ordinance authorizing the city administrator to enter into an agreement with Public Consulting Group to participate in the Ground Emergency Medical Transportation (GEMT) program during its meeting on Monday, November 18.

It has been estimated that this will increase the city’s revenue by $15,000 annually.

In other news, aldermen recognized Denetta Amor for 15 years of service as a city employee.
Filing to run for Board of Aldermen seats currently held by Ward 1’s Don Knehans, Ward 2’s David Wagner and Ward 3’s Jeanne Fleischmann; as well as that of Mayor Bill Kolas; will be available during regular business hours from Tuesday, December 17, 2019, through Tuesday, January 21, 2020. The municipal election will be held on Tuesday, April 7.
