Are you considering welcoming a furry friend into your family this holiday season? If the answer is yes, consider adopting a dog or cat from your local shelter.
Many shelters get overcrowded during this time of year, which means there’s a lot of pets waiting for the perfect family to give them a furever home.
The Marshall Animal Shelter is no different.
Shelter Manager, Danita Phillips says the shelter is at capacity-meaning many strays and lost pets are left out in the cold to fend for themselves because they just don’t have the room to shelter them.

Phillips said there is a short interview process with each adoption- to make sure your family is the right fit for the animal and the animal is the right fit for your family.
Phillips says the fee to adopt an animal is minimal when you take into consideration the actual cost paid for veterinary services. And that money goes back into helping pay for vet care another animal.

If you would like to adopt a pet or see how you can help the shelter, you can stop by at 325 North Grant Avenue or give Phillips a call at 831-0420.
