A Marshall man who is facing felony charges after schools went into secure mode on August 30 has a court proceeding scheduled to be held this week.

According to a probable-cause statement, the schools going on soft lockdown was in relation to an incident at Exchange Bank at 929 West Vest Street, across Vest from the Saline County Career Center and Marshall High School. Marshall Police officers were dispatched to an incident that they were told a man was threatening to shoot everyone inside if they could not get him money from an account.

After arrival, officers arrested Douglas Frehse, who also allegedly was found to be in possession of methamphetamine when being booked at the jail.

According to court documents, Frehse, who is now 43, has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance and a Class E Felony for Making a Terrorist Threat in the Second Degree.

Frehse entered a not-guilty plea during his arraignment hearing on October 15. He is due to appear for a plea/trial-setting hearing at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 25, at Saline County Circuit Court.
