As part of the J-turn project on U.S. Highway 50, the Missouri Department of Transportation will close the entrance to County Road 1,751 from Wednesday, December 4, 2019 to January 3, 2020.
A news release from MoDOT says a temporary entrance has been created for use by residents along that roadway.
Data shows that J-turns have contributed to an 88 percent reduction in fatality crashes in locations where they have been implemented. The J-turn design reduces the number of conflict points and crash severity at these types of intersections.
All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
