A Green Ridge man died from injuries he suffered in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Pettis County on Monday, November 25.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a northbound vehicle, driven by 53-year-old John Long, of Cole Camp, reportedly failed to yield to and struck an eastbound vehicle, driven by 84-year-old Earl Paxton, in the rear.
While Long reportedly was not injured, Paxton, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was flown by Life Flight helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries. Paxton was pronounced deceased at 3:39 p.m. by a doctor at the hospital.
The crash happened at 10:35 a.m. on U.S. Highway 50 at Rissler Road.
