A Sedalia man who allegedly discarded drug-related items during a foot pursuit by law enforcement on Wednesday, December 4, is facing a couple of felony charges.
A probable-cause statement says the subject jumped out of the passenger’s side and fled from a vehicle that was being stopped for a traffic violation. The officer says before he caught 40-year-old Shawn Knight, he threw several items onto the ground. Authorities say a canvass of the area revealed four small bags of methamphetamine and other drug-related items.
According to court documents, Knight has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest. Bond has been fixed at $25,000 cash or surety.
Knight’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
