A Florissant man died in a rollover traffic crash in Lafayette County on Thursday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 47-year-old Eddie Hughes’ eastbound freightliner reportedly traveled onto the shoulder and struck an unoccupied vehicle, then traveled off the roadway, down an embankment and overturned.
Hughes was pronounced deceased at 1:40 a.m. on Friday by a Lafayette County Sheriff’s deputy.
The crash happened at 11:05 p.m. Thursday at the 44.8 mile marker on I-70.
