A 27-year-old Sedalia man has been charged with a felony for allegedly assaulting a woman on November 24.

A probably-cause statement says the woman alleges Kent Cline grabbed her around the neck and threw her, causing her head to hit a door frame, resulting in a laceration. The woman said after she hit her head, her memory somewhat faded, but she remembered Cline punching her twice, once in each eye, resulting in bruising. The woman said at one point during the altercation, her hand was slammed in a door, which resulted in a sprained finger.

The woman reportedly provided hospital discharge paperwork that stated she was released with a closed-head injury; contusions to her face and left thumb; and a laceration to her left eyebrow, which required three stitches.

According to court documents, Cline has been charged with a Class D Felony for Second-Degree Domestic Assault, with bond set at $25,000 cash or surety.

Cline’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
