Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) shows that deer hunters in Missouri harvested 10,543 deer during the antlerless portion of the fall firearms deer season from December 6 through 8.
MDC says top counties were Callaway with 396 deer harvested; Pike with 303; and Osage with 301.
In the KMMO listening area, the top county was Howard with 181 deer harvested; followed by Cooper with 118; Carroll with 109; Pettis with 107; Saline with 82; Chariton with 73; and Lafayette with 31.
Last year’s antlerless harvest total was 6,645.
Archery season continues through January 15, 2020. The alternative-methods portion will run December 28 through January 7, 2020.
