In addition to making a decision to keep the district’s football program 11-man, the Sweet Springs R-7 School Board approved some other items during its meeting on Wednesday, December 18.
According to minutes from the meeting, the board approved the renewal of the Missouri United School Insurance Council insurance, which covers liability, school board liability, property and equipment, workers’ compensation and treasurer’s bond is due on December 31 each year. The insurance covers a calendar year as opposed to a school year. The 2020 cost is $60,965, which includes an 8-percent discount.
In other news, the board approved a request made to hold a benefit dinner for Mike Staples on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
Jon Dwiggins, a representative from Howe Company, presented new agreements, plans and cost estimates for the board to review regarding moving forward with the remaining three phases of the parking-lot improvement project. No vote was taken.
