During the meeting of the Glasgow School Board on Wednesday, December 18, the board tabled a decision on a bid for the construction and installation of the stadium seating at John Donaldson Field until the district is closer to completion of the concession stand/press box building.
According to minutes from the meeting, the board also discussed the use of a Google forms evaluation tool for the faculty and staff to provide anonymous feedback to the administrators regarding their performance. The collected data will be shared with the school board during the administrative reviews at the January and February meetings. The evaluation tool will be shortened before use next fall.
The board reviewed five years of data regarding student academic eligibility in extracurricular Missouri State High School Activities Association-sanctioned events. MSHSAA provides school districts with minimum standards, and school districts are allowed to set criteria at the local level above these minimum standards. The board is reviewing data and gathering feedback to determine if the district’s standards should be adjusted beginning with the 2020-21 school year.
In other news, the board reviewed a quote for installing a key card/fob locking system at the main entrance to the school, as well as the gymnasium. The new system will allow the district to provide a one-time entrance code for patrons renting the school facilities. The code will expire after the one-time use, and a new code will be assigned each time a group or organization uses the school facilities. This would allow for better rental and supervision of facility use. No decision was made, and the item will be revisited in the spring after the budget is reviewed.
