Authorities are still searching for a suspect who allegedly was involved in a shooting incident in Johnson County on Friday, January 3.
According to Saline County Sheriff Cindi Mullins, deputies located and stopped a vehicle identified in a shooting by the Knob Noster Police Department.
Upon identification of the driver, the vehicle fled from law enforcement. Deputies pursued the suspect through Marshall for approximately two minutes.
The driver of the vehicle then fled on foot, while the vehicle was still in motion, and it collided with an unoccupied vehicle on Pinewood Circle.
Deputies attempted to pursue the suspect on foot, however, they were not able to track the suspect behind houses. An extensive search of the area, including several residences, was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
The Marshall Police Department assisted by establishing a perimeter; and the department dispatched its K-9 Officer. The Missouri State Highway Patrol dispatched a helicopter to assist in the search, as well.
A suspect description is not available at this time. The three law-enforcement agencies are continuing the investigation.
