After rejecting one ordinance to make the annual contractual payment of $25,000 to the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation, the Marshall City Council opted to approve a lower payment during its meeting on Monday, January 6.
The first ordinance received a motion but did not receive a second; and thus died.
However, the council voted to approve both readings of a proposed ordinance for a contract with the agency for $15,000.
In other news, the council approved the reappointment of Karen Moss to another term on the Marshall Housing Authority Board.
City Administrator David Haugland also announced the next meeting of the council will be pushed back one day to Tuesday, January 21, due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday on Monday, January 20.
