A 27-year-old Sedalia man who reportedly is on probation for burglary has been charged with a felony for allegedly stealing an elderly woman’s purse and charging several hundred dollars on one of her credit cards.
A probable-cause statement says Ryan Matthew Weisner was confirmed to be with a person who was in the victim’s house when it was being cleaned. It is alleged he took the purse and used the victim’s credit card to make unauthorized purchases at several places totaling $649.74. Weisner also is alleged to have stolen a pair of earrings from another house he was cleaning and then pawned the jewelry.
Court documents say a warrant has been issued and Weisner has been charged with a Class D Felony for Stealing and a misdemeanor for stealing. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash or surety.
Weisner’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
