The Missouri Valley College Rodeo team lost one of their teammates over the weekend.
According to friends and family, 18-year-old Tucker Depew was headed to Des Moines, Iowa to the World’s Toughest Bulls & Broncs. This was the first ProRodeo he had ever taken part in.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the 18-year-old from Blackduck, Minnesota was northbound on Interstate-35 when he lost control of his 1998 Ford Explorer on ice covered roadway. His vehicle traveled off the roadway, down an embankment and overturned several times before coming to rest on its top. Depew was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene by Harrison County Coroner.
The crash occurred just before 4 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 6 miles north of Bethany.
