The Lincoln R-2 School District had its schools on “soft lock-down” earlier today.
According to the district, it was a non-emergency lock-down. It says “A soft lock-down means the students and staff all remain in their rooms and continue the instructional process. Guests are not allowed into the building. It provides time for the district to run exercises.”
The district additionally says “It was never a threat. It allowed us time to run exercises.”
The district says this was a way to work with Benton County authorities and their drug dog.
The district says the exercise is now complete and everybody is safe.
