Most of the KMMO listening area is under a Winter Storm Watch beginning Thursday, January 16 through 12 a.m. Saturday, January 18.
The National Weather Service anticipates the winter storm to begin Thursday night and last through Friday evening. A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will likely create slippery road conditions for your morning or evening commutes.
Heavy mixed precipitation is anticipated with the possibility of 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation and ice accumulation up to two-tenths of an inch possible. Winds are forecast to gust as high as 35-mph during this system.
Counties in the KMMO listening area that will be impacted include: Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Cooper, Howard, Lafayette, Linn, Livingston, Macon, Pettis, Randolph, Ray and Saline.
