A state law-enforcement agency is reminding drivers to be cognizant of changing weather conditions.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol: “With the cold temperatures we are experiencing, any precipitation can quickly affect the roads. Avoid travel unless absolutely necessary and consult the MoDOT traveler APP before you do get out on the roads.”
The agency reminds drivers to stay off the roads if possible.
It says if you must drive, drive slowly, pay attention, and give yourself plenty of extra time for traveling. Also, keep an emergency bag in your vehicle; do no use cruise control on wet or icy roadways; and always clear windows, lights and mirrors of snow and ice prior to hitting the road.
