As of Friday, January 17, two persons have filed to run for a seat in Ward 4 on the Marshall City Council.
According to a release from city clerk Julie Lewis, Phesa Wright and Vernon Craig Thompson have filed to run for a seat currently held by Kathy Vasquez.
Incumbents Ron Ott in Ward 1; Kirk Arends in Ward 2; and Dan Brandt in Ward 3 are running unopposed at this time. Each seat carries a two-year term.
However, candidate filing is open until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21.
The Municipal Election is on Tuesday, April 7.
