At the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, January 14, Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden said commissioners signed an agreement recently.
Gooden said the county has signed with Enterprise Leasing- piggybacking off a contract with the state- to keep the county’s patrol cars and fleet for the Road and Bridge Department current. She said they want to lease rather than own because it will help save on fuel and maintenance costs.
Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner said this will be for four patrol cars and one truck for the Road and Bridge Department.
Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. added information about the agreement. Gooden and Fenner also had more input, as well.
In other news, Guthrey said commissioners received a request from the sheriff’s office to hire Sarah Morrow, of Marshall, to the Jail Division. He said Morrow will replace Caitlyn Clements, who will transfer back to communications. Commissioners approved the request, and Morrow’s first day of employment will be Monday, January 20.
