Several area school districts canceled classes on Wednesday, January 22, due to a wintry mix of precipitation predicted to hit the area by the National Weather Service.
Now, several schools that are in session are dismissing early due to road conditions deteriorating because of freezing rain making all surfaces- roadways, sidewalks and parking lots- slippery.
According to the list, all Marshall Public Schools and St. Peter’s in Marshall; as well as Gilliam C-4, Hardeman R-10 and Slater Public Schools will be dismissing at 11:30 a.m.- and there will be no activities for Slater; Malta Bend R-5 at 11:56 a.m.- and there will be no activities; Brunswick R-2, Miami R-1 and Northwestern at Mendon will be dismissing at noon.
