The state of Missouri has announced businesses which have been licensed to sell medical marijuana later this year, including some locations in the immediate KMMO listening area.
According to health.mo.gov, three area locations earned the green light via a points system in an application process. Another 10 locations in the area were denied.
The website says two businesses were approved in Pettis County and one in Cooper County.
Those approved were: Missouri Health & Wellness, LLC, at 1801 South Limit Avenue, and Organic Remedies MO, Inc., at 4407 Wisconsin Avenue in Sedalia; and Natural Healthcare of Missouri, LLC, at 2415 MidAmerica Industrial Drive in Boonville.
According to the website, these facilities are supposed to undergo inspections prior to opening. If a facility does not pass an inspection within a year of DHSS issuing the license, it may be revoked.
Applications designated as “Denied” have not been offered a certification. Denials are issued for several reasons, including failure to meet minimum qualification, the results of an analysis for substantial common control, the results of application scoring or application withdrawal.
Applications for three other locations in Sedalia, three in Boonville, two in Carrollton, one in Fayette and one in Odessa were denied by the state.
Missouri received nearly 1,200 applications overall.
