Authorities in an area city are investigating a shooting incident that took place on Friday, January 24.
According to a release from the Sedalia Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of West 9th Street for a report of gunshots.
Dispatch was quickly notified that the victim- Shawn Montoya- had been driven from the scene. He reportedly was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.
All parties involved in the incident have been identified. However, the circumstances leading to the shooting currently are being investigated.
