Authorities say they found a stolen firearm inside a vehicle during a traffic stop in Cooper County on December 31,2019, and two Kansas City men have been charged with felonies.
According to a probable-cause statement, the Glock 23 pistol was reported stolen out of Kansas City.
Court documents say Jonathan Wendell Baker has been charged with a Class D Felony for Stealing a Firearm and Travis Lamond Cook with a Class D Felony for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Each posted surety bond.
Cook pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on Tuesday, January 28. His next hearing is pending. Baker is due for his initial appearance on February 25 at Cooper County Circuit Court.
