Due to the wintry weather that hit the KMMO listening area on Wednesday, February 5, some school districts have canceled classes, while others will be starting late on Thursday, February 6.
According to administrators, schools that are closed are: Blackwater; Glasgow Public, Head Start and St. Mary’s School in Glasgow; Hardeman R-10; La Monte; Miami R-1; Orearville R-4; Otterville; Pettis County R-5 in Houstonia and Hughesville; Pettis County R-12 at Dresden; and Sedalia 200, Sacred Heart, St. Paul’s Elementary and E.W. Thompson State School in Sedalia. In addition, there will be no CTC at State Fair Community College, and when Sedalia 200 Schools are closed, the Boys and Girls Clubs also are closed.
School districts on a two-hour, delayed-start schedule are: Marshall Public Schools; Fayette R-3; Gilliam C-4; New Franklin (no morning preschool); and Slater. And no morning classes at Bright Beginnings Preschool in Marshall.
