A Marshall man accused of murdering a Slater resident nearly two years ago has a court proceeding scheduled this week.

According to court documents, Adam McAlister has been charged for allegedly killing 31-year-old Lance Gibson on March 9, 2018.

McAlister has been charged with a Class A Felony for Second-Degree Murder and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. He remains in custody, with bond set at $500,000 cash only.

McAlister, who is now 32 years old, entered a plea of not guilty in June 2018 and May 2019.

On January 13, after amended felony information was filed, McAlister entered another plea of not guilty after waiving a formal arraignment.

A case review is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, February 10; a pre-trial conference for June 8; and his jury trial is scheduled to begin on June 29 at Saline County Circuit Court.
