JoAnn “Bea” Opfer, age 85, of Concordia, died Monday, February 10, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 14, at Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia, where visitation begins at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Higginsville City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Bethel United Church of Christ or Good Shepherd Care Community, in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia.

Survivors include one son, Christopher A. Opfer (Pam), of Concordia; two brothers, Eugene Welch (Catherine), of Liberty, and Kenneth Welch (Doris), of Chevy Chase, MD; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, John Edward Welch and Hilda Marie Eggers Welch, and husband, Wilber A. Opfer; Bea was preceded in death by two sisters, Carole Welch and Judy Schlueter; and one brother, Maurice Welch.
