Three event requests were on the agenda of the Marshall City Council to consider approval during its meeting on Tuesday, February 18.
Ward 3 Councilman Charlie Guthrey explained with the first two requests- Bud’ Cafe and the Midwestern Hydrocephalus Coalition both being on September 12- the date of Missouri Valley College’s Homecoming football game- presented a problem due to them being in close proximity.
After hearing input from the organizers of each event, Guthrey put his comments into the form of a motion.
The council approved Bud’s Cafe’s block party to be held on September 12. The organizer of the block party for the charitable organization- the Midwestern Hydrocephalus Coalition- will need to find another date that will be suitable.
In other news, the council approved the Marshall Chamber of Commerce’s request to conduct its Third Annual Sips and Grins Wine Walk on Saturday, August 1.
