Vernon E. Grefe, age 88, of Concordia, died Friday, February 21, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia. Burial, with military rites, will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd Care Community Memory Care Center or Crossroads Hospice.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Fuchs (Roger), of Concordia, and Wanda Thornton (Stanley), of rural Sweet Springs; four grandchildren, Brett Fuchs (Gina), Blaine Thornton (Tiffany), Meridith Haley (Jeremy) and Rachel Hudson (Christopher); five great-grandchildren, Ashlee and Lola Fuchs, Charlot and Conrad Thornton and Kaiden Haley; sister-in-law, Ramona Brunkhorst; brothers-in-law, Roger Hink and Nathan Gieselman; numerous nieces and nephews; and other dear family members, including Bob and Karen Grefe, Don and Betty Draves and Shirley Biar and Ida Daum.

In addition to his mother, Amanda Grefe, and wife, Alleen E. Brunkhorst; Vernon was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Verdus Brunkhorst and Hobert Hinck; and three sisters-in-law, Ruth Hink, Laverne Gieselman and Velma K. Hinck.
