Bond remains at $100,000 cash or surety for a 50-year-old Sedalia man charged with robbing a store while allegedly wielding a deadly weapon earlier this year.
A probable-cause statement says an employee at Casey’s Store on West 16th Street in Sedalia says Freddie M. Thomas entered the store on January 15 and demanded the employee give him the money in the register. The employee said Thomas pulled a hatchet from his jacket and hit the register with it; and then he complied with Thomas’ demands.
Thomas was arrested and has been charged with a Class A Felony for Robbery in the First Degree; a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action.
Thomas was arraigned on January 23. His preliminary hearing is scheduled to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
