An area law-enforcement agency has issued a letter on its website about a mistake.

The letter reads: “An incorrect post was sent out on Thursday, February 27, 2020, for the Saline County Sheriff’s Department website Most Wanted page. Due to a typo in information, the picture that was posted is not the party with an active warrant with our agency. The female whose picture was posted is not wanted by our agency or any other agency and unfortunately is a victim by my mistake.”

A Sheriff’s Department employee signed the letter.

Due to the mistake by the sheriff’s department, KMMO News also has deleted its post on its website and Facebook page.
