Nine Smith-Cotton High School seniors participated Wednesday, February 26, in a live enlistment ceremony in conjunction with the U.S. Army and the International Space Station.

A news release says the enlistees gathered in the Heckart Performing Arts Center along with S-C JROTC cadets and other students to watch an international broadcast from the space station.

U.S. Army Col. Andrew Morgan, currently aboard the space station, administered the oath of office through technology then answered some prearranged questions about his military career and life aboard the ISS.

Taking the oath were Sarah Bradbury, Autumn Bauer and Evan Meloy, U.S. Army National Guard; Bethany Rogers and Isaiah Robinson, U.S. Air Force; and Alexis Carey, Abrianna Barnett, Ty-Kristofer King and Dalton Turner, U.S. Marine Corps.
