A 40-year-old man has been charged with a drug-related felony while being incarcerated in Cooper County.
According to a probable-cause statement, on January 7, six envelopes were received in the mail room at the Boonville Correctional Center that were addressed to Dennis Ayo. Inside each envelope there was a piece of paper with a drawing, and the piece of paper had an unknown substance sprayed on it. Authorities conducted a test of the pieces of paper and received a positive result for synthetic cannabinoids.
Ayo has been charged with a Class D Felony for Delivery or Possession of a Controlled Substance at a jail. Bond has been set at $20,000 cash or surety.
Ayo’s initial hearing is pending at Cooper county circuit court.
