Two Missouri residents have been charged with drug-related felonies after a traffic stop on March 5 in Lafayette County.
According to a probable-cause statement, with the help of a canine, authorities found five baggies with a crystal substance inside. Authorities also found two glass pipes- one was broken, with a measurable amount of suspected methamphetamine inside; a rubber marijuana pipe; and a baggie with a green leafy substance inside- believed to be marijuana. Authorities also found 40 extra unused baggies consistent with drug distribution and a pill bottle in the glove box, which contained three Alprazolam control pills; and other drug-related items.
Tonya Renee Craig, of Kingsville, and Clayton Eugene Norcross, of Independence, each has been charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance and two drug-related misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash only for each of the accused.
Each defendant pleaded not guilty during their arraignment hearing on Monday, March 9. Their next hearing is pending at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
