A 57-year-old Keytesville man is facing felony charges after an alleged incident on Monday, March 9.
Authorities say Daniel Lynn Spotts was non-compliant with commands and became aggressive, forcing a deputy to pepper spray him in the face. Later, after the arrival of a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper and ambulance personnel- the latter trying to decontaminate his face- Spotts became combative again and began kicking his feet at them. Spotts kicked one of the ambulance personnel; and then Spotts had to be restrained for decontamination.
Spotts was transported to the Chariton County Sheriff’s Office, and he has been charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Assault in the Third Degree- Special Victim. Bond has been set at $1,500 cash only.
Spotts’ initial hearing is pending at Chariton County Circuit Court.
