The Marshall High School debate team finished second, and one member of the team qualified for the state tournament.
According to a news release, Drew Arends finished first in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate at the Central District Speech Tournament at Missouri Valley College in Marshall on Thursday, March 5.
Other results include:
– Olivia Kiso and John Miles finished third in public forum debate;
– Conner Grossenburg was third in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate;
– Elizabeth McDonald and Marissa Vestal finished fourth in public forum debate;
– Hope James and Alex Sauer wound up fifth in public forum debate.
The state debate tournament is scheduled to be held in April.
