The statement released by the school says this is a precautionary measure. Although there are currently no confirmed cases reported the school’s campus or in Saline County, out of an abundance of caution, the Missouri Valley College administration is extending Spring Break for the week of March 16 – 20 and preparing for distance learning in an effort to protect students, faculty and staff from the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The College will remain open and all business operations will continue. There will be no face-to-face classes during this time but, online classes will continue as usual.
Students are welcome to return to campus beginning on Sunday, March 22.
Anyone experiencing cough, fever or shortness of breath who has traveled to a high-risk area should NOT return to campus, and should contact their healthcare provider for further direction.
Beginning Monday, March 23, all graduate and undergraduate face-to-face classes will be moved online until further notice. College services such as the dining hall, student health center, and the library will remain open through the extended Spring Break and moving forward.
MVC will continue to monitor updates and guidance from the CDC daily, and will provide any necessary updates accordingly. You can visit MVC’s dedicated COVID-19 webpage for updates on this situation.
