An area law-enforcement agency is warning residents about false information being circulated.
The Carrollton Police Department says it has been brought to the department’s attention someone is going into businesses and telling people they have to close their businesses early, and there is a curfew in place.
The department is being told it is Carrollton Police Officers doing this. The department says it has not told any businesses they have to close.
If anyone comes into a business and says you have to close per the police department, you are urged to get a name or a description of the person and call the department at (660) 542-3128 so it can find out who is doing this. That person will potentially face charges of impersonating a police officer.
