Due to the recent COVID-19 virus, the LaMonte R-IV School District released a statement over the weekend that some changes have been put in place in order to help keep students and families healthy.
Students are asked to being soap in an airtight container and a water bottle, with their name on them. Students will be required to wash their hands to start the day and frequently throughout the day. They will be allowed to fill up their water bottles at school. Water fountain handles will be cleaned after each use and classrooms will be cleaned throughout the day.
Teachers will be increasing the space between student desks as well.
Students and teachers will no longer have access to the salad bar. The kitchen staff will serve all food to students.
Teachers are required to report a student that is sick in their class room and remove them to the nurse’s office immediately. The other students will be moved out of the classroom and janitors will come in and clean the room immediately.
The Science Night scheduled for Monday, March 16 has been cancelled and only students will be allowed to shop at the Book Fair.
Due to lack of supplies to fill the store, the principal store is also being postponed.
Anyone who is feeling ill or is experiencing symptoms is asked to stay home and seek medical attention and clearance before returning to school. During this time, only staff and students will be allowed past the front office unless they have prior approval from administration.
