The Marshall City Council held a special emergency meeting on Sunday, March 15, to discuss how to stop the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
Mayor Julie Schwetz said personnel from several agencies were there to offer input, including Marshall Public Schools, the Saline County Health Department, Fitzgibbon Hospital, Missouri Valley College, Police, Fire, MMU and the Saline County Emergency Management Agency. Schwetz says it’s great the agencies are working together, and it’s been happening for a while.

Schwetz says communication always is of utmost importance.

Schwetz says KMMO will be contacted with any updates as soon as possible.

Schwetz says with the CDC putting out new guidelines about the size of crowds being 50 or fewer for any gathering, it would have an effect on some upcoming events in Marshall, including the candidate forum that is scheduled for Monday, March 23.

Schwetz asks people to be patient in these uncertain and changing times.
