Three men accused of multiple felonies, including kidnapping, on April 26, 2018, are scheduled to have court proceedings involving their cases this week.
According to a probable-cause statement, members of multiple law-enforcement agencies arrived at the scene of the reported kidnapping at the Super 8 Motel in Higginsville and arrested the three men, who allegedly held two females against their will; raped and assaulted them; and demanded ransom money.
According to court documents, 20-year-old Jaciel Acdala Mendez-Morales; Alain Gaspar Camarillo-Linan, who is now 24; and 23-year-old Luis Angel Sierra-Vallina have been charged. Mendez-Morales and Sierra-Vallina are being held on $500,000 and Camarillo-Linan on $750,000 cash-only bond at the Lafayette County Jail.
Each defendant pleaded not guilty on April 30, 2018.
A case review for each defendant is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 16, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
