Slater School District Superintendent, Debbie Gonzalez released a statement that Slater School District will not be in session Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, April 3.
The statement goes on to say that with the ever-growing concern of the COVID-19, the district has decided for the safety and protection of students, faculty, staff and patrons, school will be closed until Monday, April 6.
All extra-curricular activities, practices, and school sponsored events have also been cancelled. The school buildings, as well as the Wildcat Fitness Center will also be closed during this time.
The district will continue to work with the County Health office to monitor the situation and make decisions that are in everyone’s best interest.
Due to the fact that classwork through the Internet may not be accessible to all families, enrichment sites and packets may be sent through the teachers. Students will NOT be penalized through this time on grades and attendance.
