The Saline County Health Department Administrator wants residents to pay attention to recommendations by officials during the current health crisis.
A release from Tara Brewer says during a pandemic it is the health department’s job to make sure citizens are safe and hear one message.
Brewer says it’s a vital time for the county to listen to its officials and take their recommendations seriously.
The health department is supporting the schools’ decision to close until April 6, which means please stay home during time. This is not a time for vacations or social gathering, but social distancing is a key component to controlling this public health emergency.
Brewer says it’s a time for residents to be cautious and aware of this public health issue. She says: Don’t Be Scared Be Prepared. Wash your hands, stay home if at all possible, and especially when you’re sick. Listen to officials, and please stay away from family and friends who are 60 years and older.
Brewer says in order to keep everyone safe and informed, the health department will provide KMMO up-to-date information as it develops by e-mail.
