The Concordia Board of Alderpersons held a special meeting Tuesday, March 17, to review and approve how the city came up with its mitigation plan in response to the COVID-19 virus.
City Administrator, Dale Klussman says they city approved the plan based on the military format, HPCON. He said he wants everyone to understand that the city does have a plan and a plan response for how the HPCON level is determined.
Klussman explains what it means for the city to be at Level B.
So far, Lafayette, Saline, Pettis and Johnson counties have not had any reported COVID-19 tests come back positive.
Klussman says his goal is to continue to serve the public. He said at this time all government offices and agencies are operating with limited access to their facilities.
Klussman said in order to mitigate the potential spread of the virus all payments such as water and utility bills will need to be made at the designated window. He also said the number of people allowed in the lobby area is limited.
He said there will be signs posted at City Hall with this information and he understands these changes are going to take some time to get used to. For more information visit the city’s website or call City Hall at 660-463-2228.
