An area county’s courthouse and jail will be closed to the public soon.
According to a news release from the county commissioners, effective Monday, March 23, the Chariton County Courthouse and Sheriff’s Office/Jail will be closed to the public until further notice. This is an effort to help protect the public and staff by reducing the chances of contact with the COVID-19 virus.
If you need to conduct business at the Courthouse or Sheriff’s Office/Jail, you are urged to contact the appropriate office for information on how to proceed. Options available to conduct business may include: phone, fax, e-mail, drop box or curb service.
