On Thursday, March 19, the Commissioner of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education provided information concerning the rest of this school year.
A news release from Marshall Public Schools’ Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher says there will be no statewide mandated testing; and districts will be allowed to submit a request to waive the attendance requirements during the coronavirus crisis.
As of Thursday, every school district in the state of Missouri is closed, affecting almost 950,000 students.
Dr. Maher says the Marshall Public School District is doing its part to continue learning for its students. Since the Commissioner urged social distancing and compliance with federal, state and local health directives, delivery of learning options is a challenge. She says the district has such outstanding personnel, creative and innovative plans are now being put into place.
