One person was killed and four others were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Ray County on Saturday, March 21.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred as the westbound Ford F-150, driven by 62-year-old Charles Lewis, of Carrollton, traveled off the right side of the roadway, began to slide and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels. Lewis and three of his passengers, 39-year-old Candace Bigby of Wright City, 37-year-old Andrew Schenk, of Warrenton and a Wright City juvenile all sustained serious injuries. 53-year-old Shelly Lewis of Carrollton died as a result of her injuries.
Charles and Shelly Lewis were both transported by Life Flight Eagle to Research Hospital. Bigby was transported by Ray County EMS to North Kansas City Hospital. Shcenk was transported by Life Flight Eagle to Truman Medical Center. The juvenile was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital by Lawson Fire.
The crash occurred just after 9 a.m. Saturday at Highway 10 and Route Y.
