Many area healthcare facilities are experiencing a shortage in personal protective equipment and that is a challenge for staff.
Coordinator of Public Relations and Marketing at Fitzgibbon Hospital, Richard DeFord, says homemade masks that meet certain specifications can be used to help in this situation.

Details about making/delivering fabric masks for hospital staff:

  • Use tightly-woven cotton fabric on both sides.
  • Call (660)831-3261 to arrange a time for pickup.
    • (You will be met in a facility parking lot at a pre-arranged time.)
  • Collected masks will be immediately sent to laundry/processing to be prepared for use.
  • Any surplus masks will be distributed to other organizations in need.
