Shannon Hall, representative of the park board, was at the emergency special meeting of the Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen to deliver some good news on Monday, March 23.
According to unofficial meeting minutes, Hall told the board the Center for Human Services approved the additional $10,000 for the all-inclusive playground to be built at the park.
Hall said the park board has approved the plans, and she requested approval from aldermen so equipment can be ordered.
Alderman Wyatt Lea asked if the city is going to have to contribute to the project; and Hall said only if additional sidewalks need to be poured.
Aldermen approved moving ahead with the project.
In other news, aldermen approved the hiring of William Fisher as a part-time police officer.
