The Buddy Backpack Program provides weekend meals for children in need. With schools being closed families who depend on this program can pick up food Friday, March 27.
Bruce Brock is the founder of this program in Saline County that has been providing food to children for more than 6 years.
He says with the current situation and there will be three locations where the backpacks can be picked up this week.
Brock said backpacks can be picked up between 10 and 11 a.m.
He said the food provided in the backpacks is food like; granola bars, soup, cereal and anything that will keep for long periods of time.
Anyone wanting to make a monetary donation can do so by mailing a check to the Columbia Food Bank and specify that it is for the Buddy Pack Program in Saline County.
